Sedation is important for patient comfort and to facilitate some more advanced pain relieving injections. We have selected a team of anaesthetists who have experience in a wide range of sedation techniques. Each of them has their own specialist area, plus the knowledge and experience necessary to work with us on day case procedures which need sedation.
Dr Gautom Biswas MBBS FRCA
Qualified as a Doctor in 1990 from Guy's Hospital, London, Dr
Biswas then completed his specialist anaesthetic training from
the South Thames East School of Anaesthesia. He has been a
Consultant Anaesthetist at South Bucks NHS Trust since 1999,
covering High Wycombe and Stoke Mandeville Hospitals.
He has specialist interest in sedation techniques, regional anaesthesia, orthopaedic arthroplasty, spinal corrective surgery, colorectal and high risk anaesthesia.
Dr Claire Nightingale FRCA FANZCA
Nightingale qualified as a Doctor in 1988 at the University of
Leicester. Having completed her specialist anaesthetic training in the
Midlands, London and Melbourne, she worked at the Royal Melbourne
Hospital before returning to the UK. Dr Nightingale has been a
Consultant at South Bucks NHS trust since 2002.
She has specialist interest in sedation techniques, anaesthesia for laparoscopic and Bariatric (obesity) surgery, trauma, ENT and vascular surgery.
Dr Maria Okoisir MBBS FRCA
Qualified as a doctor in 1989 at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Dr Okoisir then took her CCST for specialist training in anaesthesia at Barts and the Royal London School in 2004. She has fellowships in Paediatric and Obstetric anaesthesia. She works for Bucks Hospital NHS Trust as a Consultant Anaesthetist..
Her specialist interest is in sedation techniques, regional techniques and nerve blocks, Obstetrics , Paediatrics and High Risk Anaesthesia.
